The Weight of the Nation

Calling all sisters!

Make sure to watch HBO’s documentary called, “The Weight of the Nation.”   This is a project on behalf of HBO Documentary Films, the National Institutes of Health, Institute of Medicine, Centers for Disease Control, Kaiser Permanente and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.  Yep.  That is a lot of people working together to get the word out there that we are too fat and we are losing the battle.  It airs live on May 14th and 15th at 8 pm.

If you don’t get HBO, no need to fret.  The program can be watched online.  And the DVD can be ordered.  And the companion book can be ordered or downloaded.  So many resources!  Sisterfit loves resources.

But do more than that.  Go to the website and click on the “Take Action” tab.  What can we do to spread the word?

Let’s get going, girlfriends!

Thank You HBO!

Let’s Move!

by Lead Sister on May 9, 2012

The Let’s Move Campaign got it right. Have they been reading Sisterfit’s blog? Perchance.

What they are advocating is Sisterfit’s mantra, remember? Get out there, get moving and have fun. It also doesn’t hurt to have Beyonce helping out. Check out these videos. Download the instructional videos and the music. They’re free! Another example of your tax dollars at work. The resources are available here.

Grab your girlfriends of all ages and sizes (maybe some of your enemies, too). Sister feels a flash mob in the making.

After all, why should kids have all the fun?

Scrumptious-ness

June 1, 2011

Sisterfit has a secret.
Sister loves chocolate milk.  Yup.  The sweet, smooth, silky  goodness conjures up all sorts of wonderful feelings.  But Sister has never been one to tout the health benefits of this nectar of the gods.  Until now.  That’s right.  HEALTH BENEFITS.
There is  captivating and compelling evidence out of the American College of Sports Medicine [...]
